RIAA To Produce & Sponsor July 19th Invitation-Only Event

At The Legendary Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame & Museum In Cleveland

WASHINGTON D.C./CLEVELAND – Third Eye Blind will be the headline performing act at the charity benefit for Musicians On Call (MOC), a nonprofit that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities, at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. The Tuesday evening, July 19th, benefit is produced and sponsored by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It will take place at the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum in Cleveland.

Musicians On Call was founded in 1999 with the mission of bringing live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities ranging from children’s hospitals to adult facilities, VA hospitals and hospices. To date, its volunteers have played for half a million people in 20 cities across the country. By delivering live, in-room performances to patients undergoing treatment or unable to leave their beds, they add a dose of joy to life in a healthcare facility. MOC supporters over the years include Bruce Springsteen, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Antebellum, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Reba, Gavin DeGraw, Darius Rucker, Pharrell, Amos Lee, Nick Jonas, Rachel Platten and many more. The event will help raise critical funds for Musicians On Call to expand its Bedside Performance Program to other cities and facilities.

For more than 25 years, American rock band Third Eye Blind has written and recorded a steady stream of successful albums and hit songs. The band’s debut 1997 album, the self-titled Third Eye Blind, is one of the most success albums of that decade, certified by the RIAA at 6X multi-Platinum. The band is currently touring in support of its most recent release, Dopamine, including stops at the Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Outside Lands festivals this summer.

DJ Jerzy will open the night’s festivities. Through his work on the radio and strong dedication to his craft, the Chicago native is one of the most popular and sought after DJs. Jerzy has been the talent of choice for A-List celebrities such as Michael Bay and Jeremy Piven and invited to spin alongside internationally known musicians like Justin Bieber, Mike Posner, and Pitbull.

AT&T joins the RIAA as a lead sponsor of the charity event.

“Thanks to Third Eye Blind and Jerzy, we are excited for a fun-filled evening in Cleveland as we shine a light on the work we do to help showcase the healing power of music,” said Pete Griffin, President, Musicians On Call. “We are thrilled to again partner with our good friends at the RIAA and other great sponsors for this charity benefit, and we look forward to an exciting event.”

The event will take place the evening of July 19th (Tuesday) at the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum in Cleveland.
