RIAA Welcomes Bipartisan CODE Act

WASHINGTON – Representatives Tom Marino, Judy Chu, and Barbara Comstock recently re-introduced the bipartisan Copyright Office for the Digital Economy Act (CODE Act) in the U.S. House of Representatives for the 115th Congress.  Below is a comment from Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Chairman & CEO Cary Sherman on the bill.

“We are grateful for the bipartisan leadership of Reps. Tom Marino, Judy Chu, and Barbara Comstock to modernize the U.S. Copyright Office in a manner that both safeguards constitutional copyright protections and meets the demands of the digital age. It is a necessary and important task.  We applaud the innovative spirit behind the CODE Act which recognizes that the Office is responsible for a giant sector of our economy and creates a structure that reflects the modern marketplace.”
