RIAA COMMENT ON ELECTION OF REP. JERRY NADLER AS RANKING DEMOCRATIC MEMBER OF U.S. HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE
WASHINGTON – The Democratic Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives recently voted to elect Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) as Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee. Below is a comment on the election from Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Chairman and CEO Cary Sherman.
“We applaud the Democratic Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives for electing Rep. Nadler as the Ranking Democratic Member of the Judiciary Committee. Rep. Nadler is a thoughtful leader who understands that innovation and creators’ rights go hand in hand. We look forward to working with him and his expert staff on a variety of music community issues, including critical music licensing reforms to ensure all creators are paid fairly.”
