For most of my professional career in the music business, I’ve known Zach well, worked closely with him on myriad issues and developed the deepest respect and affection for him. He was always a strong supporter of the RIAA and for that especially, along with his friendship and counsel, I am most grateful.

Before taking over UMG’s publishing business, Zach was a long time member of our board and served on our executive and finance committees. But he was not just a member of those governing groups, he was a leader among equals who always brought to the table thoughtful and informed opinions. He had a gigantic brain, but just as important, a generous heart.

On behalf of myself and my colleagues at the RIAA, we thank Zach and wish him the best of success in his new endeavors.
