RIAA Statement on Florida S.B. 288 the Electronic Dissemination of Commercial Recordings and Audiovisual Works Act

Washington, D.C. (February 4, 2022) – The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) issued the following statement today by its Chairman & CEO Mitch Glazier on the passing of Florida Senate Bill S.B. 288, the Electronic Dissemination of Commercial Recordings and Audiovisual Works act:

“We sincerely thank Senator Garcia for her work and leadership on S.B. 288, which will bring existing Florida law further into the digital age by updating the disclosure requirements of online vendors. Florida’s consumers deserve to know with whom they are engaging online. And music creators and small businesses who contribute so much to the state’s economy deserve the same protections afforded to those offline.”
